Wake Up The City – Creative Workshops with SoLo Craft Fair & Eastern City BID
SoLo Craft Fair is a South London–based organisation run by makers, for makers that organise vibrant craft markets across South & The City of London and collaborate with events such as Leadenhall, Sky Garden and Between the Bridges. These free workshops are part of the Wake Up the City series, a post-Christmas initiative sponsored by Eastern City to promote wellness and relaxion in the new year.
New Year Tea Blending Workshop
A Little Tea Cup will take guests through an artistic blending session to explore tea flavours through creative responses such as movement, gesture and colour.. and of course learn how to make your own tea blends! A perfect way to spend an evening during dry January.
When: 15th Jan, 5-8pm (various timings available)
Candle Decorating Workshop
Decorate your own taper candles in this cosy workshop! 2 candles per person.
When: 22nd Jan, 1-4pm (various timings available)
Trinket Dish Making Workshop
Join us for a relaxed air-dry clay workshop where you’ll hand-build your own small trinket dish and decorate it with personal touches. No experience needed—just come ready to create and unwind.

Hand Sewing Workshop
A friendly introduction to hand-sewing workshop, all skill levels welcome. Guest will be taught how to sew a coaster, sleeve or decoration. During this workshop, you will stitch a little item to brighten up your desk. All materials and step-by-step guidance are provided.
In this two-hour session, you will learn how to sew one of the following items:
A coffee cup sleeve (please bring a cup to measure)
A coaster
A heart decoration

Embroidered Valentine’s Decorations
Learn the basics of embroidery and create your own Valentine’s Decorations with Katie Wells, of Tired Starling.
When: 12th Feb, 1-4pm (various timings available)
Winter Trees – Pressed Plant Workshop
You will get to make a creative paper landscape using a collage technique and pressed leaves. All materials provided.
When: 19th Feb, 2-5pm (various timings available)
Please note all workshops take place in the basement of the SoLo Craft Fair shop, which showcases and sells work from over 100 different makers and designers. You are very welcome to browse the shop before or after your session.
Access to the workshop space is via stairs only.
Spaces are limited to each workshop so if you can no longer attend, please make sure you cancel your ticket so we can offer the slot to someone else.
