Summer Music in City Churches

This June, Summer Music in City Churches returns to the Square Mile for the eighth time. This year’s theme is Around the World, and with nine days of music inspired by travel overseas and home thoughts from abroad, there is an abundance of choice for everyone!

Music ranges from symphonic classics to witty jazz takes on familiar shanties and spirituals; from charming chamber music to a fun family concert to Festival Evensong. Artists include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, pianist Lucy Parham with actor Juliet Stevenson, actor/impressionist Alistair McGowan with pianist Mark Bebbington, Iain Farrington with his Art Deco Trio, City of London Choir under Daniel Hyde, and many more.

In the Eastern City BID, rising stars from the Guildhall School, the Sonas Quartet, present a lunchtime concert on Thursday 18th June at St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate. Contemporary meets classical as Clarice Assad’s homage to the sounds of Latin America, is contrasted with Mozart’s darkly mercurial string quartet No. 15.

When: 18th June, 1-2pm

Where: St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3TL, UK
