Eastern City BID has recently partnered with Bridge Watch, the charity that helps prevent suicide in the City, particularly on and around its five bridges. With thousands of workers travelling in and out of the City each day, they can act as “eyes and ears” and are likely to be first responders when it comes to spotting and assisting someone who is in crisis. We have therefore arranged free online awareness sessions, delivered by Samaritans and the City’s Suicide Prevention Lead, to provide local employees with the tools to start difficult conversations in a careful and sensitive way. These skills can also be useful outside of the work environment in people’s personal lives.
