The Michelin Guide unveiled its 2026 Key selection on Friday, September 18, 2026, adding 18 new ‘key’ hotels across the UK and Ireland and reshaping the top of the list in the process.

A huge congratulations to Pan Pacific London that has been awarded its first Michelin Key! Pan Pacific London joins this year’s new recipients across the UK and Ireland, alongside other great hotels.

What is a Michelin Key?

Just as Michelin Stars recognise outstanding restaurants, Michelin Keys celebrate exceptional hotels. There are three levels: One Key signifies “a very special stay”, Two Keys an exceptional stay, and Three Keys an extraordinary stay.

Awarded following anonymous stays by Michelin Guide inspectors, the distinction recognises excellence across five criteria:

Connection to the destination: how the hotel contributes to its locality.
Architecture and interior design: the quality and character of its spaces.
Personality and authenticity: what makes the hotel distinctive.
Service, comfort and maintenance: the quality and consistency of the guest experience.
Value: how well the experience reflects the price paid.
