A Bold Monument to Queer Voice and Visibility

Eastern City BID is delighted to support Proudspeaker by ooo office, the winning design of the 2025 Pride Float Competition—a powerful celebration of queer visibility, creativity, and collective voice in the built environment.

The competition, led by the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) in partnership with Architecture LGBT+, Freehold, and Brookfield Properties, invited designers to respond to the theme of Voices by creating a Pride float that champions the LGBTQIA+ community within architecture and related professions.

Taking the form of a monumental megaphone, Proudspeaker is a mobile sculptural statement that amplifies LGBTQIA+ stories and perspectives—turning the parade float into a vibrant symbol of protest, pride, and unity.

As a supporter of this important initiative, Eastern City BID is proud to stand behind projects that reflect our commitment to inclusion, visibility, and cultural vibrancy in the City of London. Proudspeaker exemplifies how design can serve as both a platform and a beacon for underrepresented voices.

The float will debut at Pride in London on Saturday 5 July 2025, mounted on a 7.5-tonne truck and outfitted with sound and safety features for the parade route. It promises to be a striking and joyful presence at the heart of the celebration.
