Consultation: Monument Junction walking and cycling improvements
We would like your views on proposals to make the Monument junction and surrounding roads safer and easier to use for people walking and cycling.
The changes are intended to help make it safer to move through and around the junction, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists.
Our scheme will provide new and improved pedestrian crossings at the Monument junction and surrounding roads, as well as wand separated cycle lanes on all arms of the junction, advance stop lines and a new cycle gate. We also propose pedestrianising Fish Street Hill, subject to further discussions with the City of London Corporation. This is necessary to enable us to introduce a new pedestrian crossing here.
The scheme supports our Vision Zero strategy which aims to eliminate deaths and serious injury on London’s roads by 2041.
