One of London’s oldest and most spectacular traditions, the Lord Mayor’s Show, returns on Saturday 8 November 2025, marking the inauguration of the City of London’s first-ever Lady Mayor. This centuries-old celebration fills the streets of the Square Mile with colour, pageantry, and pride, as the new Lord Mayor travels from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice and back again in the iconic golden State Coach — a tradition that has been part of London life for over 800 years.

While the procession itself doesn’t pass directly through the Eastern City, the day brings a brilliant buzz to the wider area. Many City streets will be pedestrianised, making it the perfect time to explore the Eastern City’s cafés, restaurants, and landmarks while soaking up the festive atmosphere. Whether you’re joining the crowds near Bank and St Paul’s or simply enjoying the day nearby, it’s a wonderful occasion to celebrate the City’s heritage and community spirit.

The City BIDs are delighted to be taking part in this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show, celebrating the Square Mile’s community heroes. Our float will honour individuals nominated by the public for their outstanding contributions — the people who go above and beyond to make the City a better, more welcoming place for everyone.
