Embodiment in Nature by Otherlandz

Embodiment in Nature explores the profound connections between humanity and the natural world, bringing us closer to the environments we inhabit. Through this exhibition, we invite you to consider how the rhythms of nature are mirrored in womanhood  — our bodies, emotions, and societies—and how we, in turn, leave our mark on ‘Mother Gaia’.

The works presented here traverse mediums and perspectives, drawing from marginalised voices, to examine land exploitation, boundaries, settlement and through the artworks attempt to reclaim a politically charged and colonised space.

The world is currently in a state of escalating climate disasters, wildfires, floods, droughts and storms. These events are a reminder of our need to better connect with the world around us. At its heart, this exhibition asks: Where does humanity end, and nature begin? Through themes of growth, decay, resilience, and transformation, we examine the interdependence of the two, challenging the viewer to see the natural world not as a backdrop, but as an intrinsic part of themselves.
