The Eastern City has so much art, culture and creative activities to offer, and so we are delighted to share a round up our favourite fun things to see, do and experience in 2026.
With courses, workshops, movie nights in the sky, free chess and salsa dancing, there is such a diverse selection of activities that embrace your New Year’s resolutions.

Make With x Theatre Deli Creative Workshops
Casual Coffee Painting
In this Blue Monday Special workshop, creatives will explore the techniques of painting while using an unexpected medium: coffee!
As a replacement for traditional watercolour, guests will learn about gradients, washes, pigment, and layering which will allow them to create unique works of art.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to experiment with a new art medium.
Coffee and breakfast provided.

Calming Collage
In this workshop, creatives will have the opportunity to make their own unique pieces using the traditional method of collaging as guests will cut, collage, stick and design their very own canvas.
Inspiration can be drawn from the materials provided or from the carefully designed prompts meant to spark imagination and play; offering an experimental, tactile, colourful experience.
Food and refreshments provided!

SET Ceramics Courses
If you want to learn a new skill and express your creativity, why not sign up to join a pottery course with SET Ceramics this January. With a fully equipped studio, this is an opportunity to get an in-depth feel for the craft. You’ll be guided by an experienced ceramicist/artist with their own individual style and approach which will ensure that you learn something truly unique.

SoLo Craft Fair
SoLo Craft Fair is a South London–based organisation run by makers, for makers that organise vibrant craft markets across South & The City of London and collaborate with events such as Leadenhall, Sky Garden and Between the Bridges. These workshops are part of the Wake Up the City series, a post-Christmas initiative sponsored by Eastern City to promote wellness and relaxion in the new year.
New Year Tea Blending Workshop
A Little Tea Cup will take guests through an artistic blending session to explore tea flavours through creative responses such as movement, gesture and colour.. and of course learn how to make your own tea blends! A perfect way to spend an evening during dry January.

Candle Decorating Workshop
Decorate your own taper candles in this cosy workshop.
2 candles per person. Please note that access to the workshop space is via stairs only.

Trinket Dish Making Workshop
Join us for a relaxed air-dry clay workshop where you’ll hand-build your own small trinket dish and decorate it with personal touches. No experience needed—just come ready to create and unwind.

Our favourite food hall in the Square Mile is now offering a selection of fabulous free events throughout January for everyone to enjoy.
Weekly Latin socials
What: Box Hall is hosting a free salsa class where you can learn with great teachers – no partners needed!
When: Fridays from 7pm
ChessMate
What: Chess Mate returns for free chess play alongside their resident DJ. This is a great class for beginners as well as chess fans.

Sushi Masterclass with Inamo Sukoshi
What: Learn the art of sushi and the secret of the dragon with Inamo Sukoshi.
